Sateri Donation Helps Improve Kindergarten Facilities in Fujian

New books and new chairs. A more colourful playground. Improved facilities resulting from Sateri‘s donations to Duxia Kindergarten in Fujian, China.

Besides relocating the school’s playground and livening it up with colourful rocking horse toys, leading global producer of high-quality viscose Sateri also donated new school desks and lockers to the kindergarten which is attended by 40 children.

“We’d like to extend our deep thanks to Sateri for the support towards our kindergarten infrastructure development. I am sure the kids will enjoy and benefit a lot with the new books, toys and the new facilities,” the Duxia Kindergarten principal said.

Apart from its plans to support more kindergartens in the future, the company runs several community development programmes for neighbourhoods near its mills in Fujian, Jiangxi, Jiujiang and Nanjing.

These include donating thousands of library books, helping with disaster relief, working with fire departments on safety campaigns, supporting cultural activities and conducting environmental awareness training.

These activities demonstrate Sateri’s commitment to Founder Sukanto Tanoto’s 5Cs business philosophy of always doing what is “good for the community, country, climate, customer and company”.

The company is also committed to transparency, responsible sourcing and responsible manufacturing, and has recently released its first Sustainability Report.

As the largest viscose producer in China, Sateri has an annual capacity in excess of 600,000 tons, and aims to become the world’s biggest manufacturer of viscose by 2025.
