RGE Founder’s Day 2020 was commemorated globally in November/December 2020 under special circumstances. However, the COVID-19 global pandemic did not dampen RGE companies’ resolve to continue creating value for community, country, climate, customer and the company – our Founder and Chairman Sukanto Tanoto’s 5C’s business philosophy.
Last year’s Founder’s Day saw our business groups going to the communities to give back through volunteer service. To continue this service while observing safe distancing measures, this year’s Founder’s Day included a global fundraising across 10 regions to support more than 50 organisations and local communities, many of which had been hard hit by the pandemic. Employees rallied one another to raise funds for their respective partnered beneficiaries, and these donations were further bolstered by RGE’s $2-for-$1 fund-matching.
Giving back to the community was not the only activity in the month-long Founder’s Day 2020 commemoration. More than 1,000 Core Value Refresher sessions were conducted for more than 25,000 employees across 6 countries.
Formally launched in 2017, RGE’s Core Values (TOPICC – Complementary Team, Ownership, People, Integrity, Customer and Continuous Improvement) provide a unifying framework and code of conduct to guide employees in creating a culture that will take RGE through the next 50 years and beyond.
A global RGE Founder’s Day 2020 Core Values photo and video contest was also organised to further affirm employees’ living the RGE Core Values. Employees got creative and posted more than 1,000 entries on social media that they feel best represent the TOPICC Core Values.
The Inside RGE editorial team is pleased to share the following winning Core Values photo entries.
