APR Strengthens Textile Partnerships Across Asia Through Fibre Innovation

As Asia’s textile industry continues to evolve, stronger collaboration, regional partnerships and product innovation are becoming increasingly important to building a more resilient and competitive value chain. Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), part of the RGE group, is supporting this transformation by strengthening relationships with customers and industry partners across key textile markets.

This commitment was demonstrated through APR’s participation in two major industry exhibitions in Indonesia and India, where the company showcased new opportunities for viscose rayon and lyocell fibres while reinforcing long-term partnerships across the textile ecosystem.

What Fibre Innovation Means for Sustainability

APR supplies viscose rayon and lyocell, two cellulosic fibres made from renewable wood pulp.

Cellulosic fibres come from renewable wood pulp rather than petroleum, and they biodegrade under natural conditions. For brands under pressure to reduce their environmental footprint, responsibly produced cellulosic fibre is an appealing option. APR’s fibre innovation, with new fabric applications, closed-loop production, and technical support, is a practical way to help partners meet these expectations.

Strengthening Indonesia’s Textile Ecosystem

APR marked its eighth consecutive year at Indo Intertex Expo in Jakarta under the theme Nurturing Growth, Strengthening Partnerships. Indo Intertex is one of Southeast Asia’s leading textile and garment machinery exhibitions. It brings manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers together to explore new technologies and business opportunities.

At the exhibition, APR highlighted the importance of collaboration by featuring partner companies spanning spinning, weaving, knitting and garment manufacturing. The showcase reflected the interconnected nature of Indonesia’s textile industry, and demonstrated how closer collaboration across the value chain can create shared value and support sustainable industry growth.

One of the exhibition’s highlights was a dedicated display of lyocell fabrics developed for batik applications. Recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, batik remains a defining part of Indonesia’s textile heritage. By demonstrating lyocell’s compatibility with traditional wax-resist dyeing techniques, APR showcased how fibre innovation can support artisans while preserving the authenticity of this centuries-old craft.

Expanding Opportunities in India

RGE and APR’s commitment to supporting the textile value chain also extended to India, where APR participated in the Fibers & Yarns Expo in Mumbai under the theme Committed to Growth, Committed to You.

One of India’s leading textile trade fairs, the exhibition provided an opportunity to strengthen customer relationships, establish new partnerships and engage with manufacturers across the country’s textile supply chain.

India continues to represent an important growth market, with increasing demand for reliable fibre supply, consistent product quality and technical expertise to support manufacturers serving both domestic and international markets.

Why Partnerships Drive Long-Term Growth

Sachin Malik, Head of Commercial at APR, reflected on both exhibitions and stressed the value of lasting partnerships across the textile value chain.

“In the current market scenario, success is not a solo pursuit. It is about how effectively we integrate into our customers’ reality,” he said.

His point applies in both markets. Fibre producers grow when they align their plans with the success of customers and industry partners. As part of RGE, APR combines fibre innovation with close collaboration to help build a stronger, more resilient textile industry. Working alongside manufacturers, brands, and downstream partners, RGE aims to create long-term value while supporting sustainable growth in two of Asia’s most important textile markets.
